DECEMBER EBOOK SALE

The ebook of my novel The Sex Cabaret will be availabe through out December at a special low price. $1.22 for US readers and 77p for UK readers.

BLURB: Young and naive, Daniel Higgins, is drawn into a world that will challenge his inhibitions and ideals. Taking a job at The Viaduct, he is introduced to The Sex Cabaret -- a spectacle of erotica and exhibitionism like nothing he has seen before.

Clive Bronsan is a successful lawyer, happy with his family and achievements, until a visit to the cabaret reveals what has been missing from his life. When the curtains rises, everything Clive holds important will be changed forever.

Alfie Garcia's drop dead looks have made him the biggest gay porn star in Europe and the cabaret's reigning show boy. Men travel from all over the country to see him perform, but are any of them really interested in the man behind the visage?

As the lives these characters intertwine sex, love, desire, jealousy, fame, ambition and violence all play their part in a highly charge novel of eroticism and sensuality.

Three fates collide when the curtain goes up on The Sex Cabaret.

PLAYING AGAIN

Early this year I began writing a rugby themed novella called The Players only to abandon it two thirds of the way through when I didn't know how to bring it to a satisfying conclusion. I started writing without planning the story in advance and as always happens when I try to wing it, I got lost. Most of my abandoned work is stuff I've started without an outline.  The Players was something a little different. More of a M/M story focusing on relationships rather than full on sex (though there is still plenty of hot sex in there).  It was something outside my comfort zone and around the 12k word point  I got stuck with it and moved on to work on a batch of short stories. I'd pretty much written off The Players as a failed experiment and didn't give the story or the characters another thought. Or so it seemed.
Last week, out of the blue  I woke up and suddenly knew how the final third of the story should play out. It's funny how that happens -- I hadn't been consciously thinking about that story at all --  and quite wonderful when it does.  So I reread the partially completed draft and picked right back up where I'd left off.  All being good I'll have a complete first draft in another week.  It's still very much a M/M drama/romance rather than my regular gay erotica. So much so that I'm wondering whether to use a new pen name for the finished novella. I've been kicking around another idea that if successful will develop into a M/M thriller. The M/M stuff, while still pretty hot, is different enough from my regular work that it doesn't sit comfortably to put it out as a Thom Wolf book.  I'm still not sure.  I have a pen name in mind but I'm not ready to commit to it just yet. What's that you say? ... Write the frigging stories first.  Too right! So I need to get the words down on paper and make a decision about how I'm going to market them in (gulp) 2015.
I intend being a lot more focused next year and managing my time much better. It's not always easy. I have another job and also run a small property business. But writing is my passion. I think about stories when I go to bed at night and I'm still thinking about them when I wake up in the morning. I just need a more productive method of getting those stories written. I'm still pretty old school and do all my first drafts in long hand. So maybe that should be my new years resolution – to get with the modern world and write straight onto my lap top. My goal for 2015 is to write one long novel and two novellas.
In the mean time The Chain is out there now. I love the new paperback edition. Ebooks are definitely a wonderful thing, but it's something special for a writer to be able to hold an old fashioned book in their hands. Or maybe that's just me. Old fashioned.

THE CHAIN Available Now

This is a long overdue update.  I have a few good excuses for not blogging.  First of which – The Chain is now available in ebook and print on demand paperback. This has been a very long time coming I procrastinated and delayed this new edition for the best part of two years but it's finally done - re-edited, proofed, formatted – and now it's done. And despite all that, I actually had a great time re-visting a story that first took shape way back in 2000 and was published in paperback by Zipper Books in November 2003. When the rights reverted to me I had all kind of crazy ideas about what to do with the book. I intended to completely rewrite and update it at first but resisted that idea. So what we now how is a slightly polished version of the original with a hot new cover.

On a visit to the north of England Dale Summer joins a group where anything is possible and soon becomes entangled in a complex web of obsession. He develops a fixation on one of the members this unusual club - a young married man with an insatiable appetite for extreme sex. Soon Dale is in over his head. Where will it end and how far is he prepared to go?

I also finished the last story for what will be my third short story collection Everyone Is Naked on the Internet.  I was aiming for a winter 2014 publication but now I've bumped up The Chain, this new book will most likely appear early in 2015.  I need to rewrite some of the stories and begin the formatting process for paperback and ebook but having done it once with The Chain, I'm less daunted about the process this time. I've already designed the cover so there's no reason this won't be ready for Jan/Feb 2015.

Of course editing, formatting, cover design etc are my least favourite part of the process.  It's the writing that I love the most and I've already started a new project.  A lot of my recent work has drifted into the M/M romance market - mainly because that's what is popular right now and more straight women buy gay books then gay men. But I don't want to get sucked into the trap of writing for that market all the time.  RevisitingThe Chain reminded me of a time when gay erotica was aimed squarely at the horny male market. My next book is going right back to basics - the kind of hard, gritty sex I used to write in those long dead 1990s porn magazines. I'm horny and ready to go.

Putting The Chain behind me.

EBOOK READERS - NEW FORMATS

Three of my ebooks which were previously exclusive to Amazon Kindle are going to available for all ebook readers. The Leather and the Flesh is available now at Smashwords and all major ebook sellers, with Midnight Screening and Wild West Hero following over the next few days.

Over the summer I've been working on my third collection of short stories. The project is going really well with 11 stories complete. Because I'm aiming for a paperback as well as ebook release for this set, it's going to be longer than Bedtime Stories or Body Language. Depending on length the finished book will contain between 13 to 15 stories. So far the shortest story is around 2500 words and the longest 10000. So there's a lot of scope and variety. I'm still not ready to share the title until the book is finished – I've come the conclusion that there's something in that old writers superstition about jinxing a project by talking about it too soon.

I've also (finally) come round to thinking about The Chain. As you know I've been toying with the idea of an ebook release for my old 2003 novel but haven't have the balls to look at it. I once thought I might rewrite the entire novel and put out a brand new edition but I'd much rather spend my time working on new stories than revisiting old ones. The Chain was originally published to the very tight deadline. I had six weeks to write and edit it for publication. What came out was little more than a polished first draft. So rather than completely rewrite the book as I once thought, I've decided not to change it but give it the through second draft I didn't have time for in 2003. I'm looking at a very loose publication date of late 2014/early 2015. I kind of fell out of love with The Chain for a long time but I'm beginning to look back on it with more affection and feeling those old passions stir.

BLURB:
In his youth Blake Powell was an actor, the handsome star of a dozen teen movies. Now in his forties, he still possesses the matinee idol good looks that made him a star back then. But movies and acting are all in the past, these days Blake is an acclaimed chef and restaurateur. Despite the success of his second career, his personal life is not so steady. His boyfriend Charlie is into drink, drugs and boys half his age. Blake has had enough.

The invitation to be guest of honour at a special screening of one of his movies is just what Blake needs: a short break away from Charlie. One of his early films The Burning Man has transcended its roots as a cheap horror film to become a cult favourite. Two decades later the film has reached a new audience of enthusiastic fans.

Twenty year old student Tim Aston is one of those fans. From the first time he saw the film, the naked image of screen hunk Blake has fuelled a million fantasies. Tim can't resist the opportunity. The late night screening will allow him to meet his idol at last.

Only Blake is not the same as the fresh faced hunk on screen. Older, smarter, sexier; Blake Powell is more handsome than ever. And Tim's fantasies are about to come true.

A scorching novella from the author of The Sex Cabaret and The Leather and the Flesh. Approximately 13K words.

Overdue Summer Update

Apologises as ever for the lack of updates recently. Who would be a writer during the summer? It must be the most unproductive season. There are distractions everywhere: lawns to be cut, Pimms to drink, gardens to tend, barbecues, parties, weddings, the lure of the outdoors. There's no harder time to work. All of those of just excuses of course, and the only thing that keeps a writer from writing is laziness – another hazard of summer.

So where am I with work? Well, The Amateurs didn't turn out as I planned. Not that I was really planning it, which looking back is the problem. Instead of the lengthy novella I intended, The Amateurs has fragmented into a series of loosely connected short stories which as they stand do not form a cohesive whole. I'm not satisfied with how it turned out but there is no one to blame but myself. The lesson learned is to always have a plan; a beginning, middle and a clear end. Writing in the dark doesn't work for me. It wasn't a complete waste of time. There is some good stuff in there – characters and stories that stand up on their own. Some of those stories will feature in my next collection while others will sit in their folder until inspiration strikes again.

The proposed paperback of collected novellas has also stalled. Mainly because my skills are not yet sufficient to produce a book of the quality I want. I can't see the point in releasing a physical book that is substandard. If it's going to tempt readers away from their Kindles then a physical book has to something special. Something beautiful. It's not there yet, but I haven't given up.

The project I am focusing on right now is my third short story collection. The title for this was originally The Exhibitionists. That was until last week when the brilliant Kevin Killian made a casual comment and triggered a light bulb moment, giving me the most brilliant title for the book. What is it? You'll have to wait and see but it's a winner. I have nine stories complete so far, one of which is a piece from The Amateurs, the other is an episode from the abandoned Risk Addiction novel. Depending on length I plan to write another four or five stories before making the final selection for the book. I'm not going to jinx myself by trying to set a publication date before the book is finished but late autumn/ winter is a realistic target.

This weekend Wild West Hero is going to be relaunched with a new cover. Using the same model as before, the new design fits in better with the style of my other e books. Despite being my favourite Wild West Hero hasn't sold as well as my other titles. Maybe people just don't fancy it, but it could be that the mismatched cover is putting them off. So I'm giving the book a re-brand to see if can find a readership. Check it out:

With no new release on the horizon I'm going to be doing some promotions and give aways over the summer. I might even post some of those abandoned stories on line to see what people think of them. I've also rediscovered some of the old tales I wrote for Men Magazine and Freshman way back in the day.  Maybe some of those old relics deserve another day in the sun.

WORDS MADE FLESH E-BOOK NOW ONLY 99P

My first novel Words Made Flesh is currently available on Amazon for the special low price of 99p / $1.65.  Originally published by Idol, an imprint of Virgin Books in 2000, the novel was republished by Random House in 2012.  As this title is released through a mainstream publisher I have no input into the price and promotions, unlike my self published books, so I have no idea how long this promotion will run for, but if you're looking for some old fashioned raunchy smut for your Kindle grab this bargain while it's going.

Debut novel from Thom WolfBest-selling novelist Glenn Holden has an appreciation for the rougher side of sex. But when a handsome stranger breaks into his house claiming to be a character from one of Glenn’s own thrillers, the author is suddenly thrust into a surreal sexual adventure that goes further than the concoctions of his own dirty mind - a bizarre world full of mysterious men and even wilder sex.

New Book: WILD WEST HERO

Wild West Hero launches today. The book has been uploaded to Amazon and will go live in world wide territories over the weekend.

I have loved writing this book and creating the characters of Eddie, Hank and Sandro. I've mentioned before how much I love Spaghetti westerns and the hot Italian actors of the 1960s so incorporating this world into an erotic story has been an absolute blast.

The book is novella length. 29,000 words - around 100 printed pages. The prefect length for this kind of fiction - like a torrid holiday affair.

The final cover art, pictured below, is a simpler, more refined version of the cover I posted here a few weeks back. I think this new version works better, bringing Eddie up close.

1969. A cast of handsome actors gather in Spain to film an action packed spaghetti western. For newcomer Eddie Drake, it’s the chance of a life time. After an undistinguished career in television, he’s finally landed a lead role in a movie. Eddie’s modern good looks perfectly represent the new breed of wild west hero. His agent confidently predicts he could be the next Clint Eastwood.

For Hank Kinney the movie marks a depressing career low. He’s been a leading man in some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters for over twenty years. But now he’s reduced to making low budget European trash. It’s a come down too far.

Eddie idolised Hank when he was growing up but barely recognises this bitter hell raiser as the idol of his teens. Hank still possesses the matinee idol good looks that made him a star, but alcohol and regret have made him an angry, difficult figure. Eddie’s focus is on the film. He can’t get sidetracked by Hank’s messy emotions, no matter how hot he finds him. He already has the distraction of Sandro, his sexy Italian co-star. Young, ballsy and damned near insatiable – Sandro is a full time stud.

Under blazing heat and the tension of a tight schedule, tempers and passion runs high. Behind the scenes, the ride is wilder than anything the film makers could bring to the screen.

Other news. I'm working towards the paper back collection of my four novellas. Formatting for print is entirely different to formatting for ebook, so it's taking a little more time than usual, but so far it seems to be going well. Now that Wild West Hero is finished and out there I can get the full manuscript ready for its print run. I don't want to commit myself to a publication date until all the work is complete and I've proofed a preview copy. I'm optimistically aiming for an April 2014 release date.

My third short story collection is also progressing. The thing I love about shorter work is the opportunity to experiment and try something different with every tale, so far I've got a range of scenrios and characters including exhibitionists, high class escorts, cheap hustlers, college boys, gym boys, bears and daddies. There's no publication date for this yet but it's likely to be sometime in the autumn.

So that's it. Wild West Hero is out there. Enjoy

MY WILD WEST HEROS

My new ebook is all set for publication next week - 21st February. All of the hard work is done and the manuscript has been proofed and formatted ready for launch. Just one last proof read remaining and it'll be good to go.

As the book is set in 1969 on the set of a spaghetti western, I thought I'd dedicate this weeks update to the handsome men of those 1960s Italian cowboy pictures. The kind of men who inspired this book. My own wild west hero’s.

FRANCO NERO

Top of the list. My absolute favourite. Clint Eastwood might be the most famous but Franco was by far the sexiest of the spaghetti studs to put on a pair of dusty chaps.

Born in Parma, Italy, Franco's acting career has covered just about every genre from western, thrillers to musicals. But he'll always be remembered as the original and best actor to take on the legendary role of Django (1966). I fell in love the first time I saw his stunning blue eyes stare out from beneath the rim of his cowboy hat.

TERRENCE HILL

Terrence was the second actor to take on the role of Django in Django Prepare a Coffin (1967). Cast because of his remarkable resemblance to Franco Nero, Terrence certain had the looks and the piercing eyes to follow Nero's hunky original.

GEORGE HILTON

Originally from Uruguay, George's Latin good looks made him a natural for the European film scene of the 1960's. He made his spaghetti western d̩but in 1966 with Franco Nero in the movie Massacre Time Рtwo hot studs for the price of one.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/cK_e3EtbL_8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

GEORGE EASTMAN

Italian native, George Eastman was a giant at 6ft 9in. His huge frame often him saw him cast as villains and henchman, notably in Django Prepare a Coffin with the dishy Terrence Hill.

As the above post shows I love spaghetti westerns and the macho men who stared in them. The four hunks above are nothing but the tip of the iceberg. Check out some of the trailers on youtube and see if you can find some favourites of your own.

Announcing: WILD WEST HERO

I've been going on about it for long enough. Today I'm finally ready to reveal the details of my next release Wild West Hero.

BLURB: 1969.

So there you have it. The book is in pretty good shape. All major revisions complete, it's at the proof reading stage and everything is looking good for the 21st February publication. That date isn't entirely written in stone – there's always something that could go wrong – but it's pretty realistic. Disasters aside I can't see any reason that it won't be ready for then.

I must admit I love this book. It's possibly my favourite (though I shouldn't have such things) of the stories I've produced since going it alone as an indie author. Maybe because I'm so interested in the movies that came out of Italy in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Not just westerns but their thrillers and horror movies. There's something quite surreal and other worldly about those films, I can't get enough. But its the cowboys that really stir my loins. Those sexy Latin stunners in their chaps and hats; deeply tanned and handsome, taking a good beating. Wow. I'll put together a gallery of some of my favourite cowboys in the run up to the books release and post them right here.

Other news: In between drafts of Wild West Hero and plans for the paperback publication of collected novellas, I've been working on a short story for my third collection. I'm tentatively planning a follow up to Bedtime Stories and Body Language later this year. There's no release date in mind yet, I'm just writing stories between longer projects, and will go ahead with the book once I've got 10 to 12 really strong pieces. Currently there are 6 stories that are good to go. I haven't finished the latest yet but have a good feeling that it will make the grade. It might even be the title story – but its too early for spoilers.

Though here's a sneak peak of what I've been working on today:

There's only one week left on the Watching Henry Lawton price promotion. Don't miss out.

That's it for this week. Miserable weekend of weather ahead. I hope things are better where ever you are. Take care and stay safe.

Other news: My work on Wild West Hero is steaming ahead. I've completed a second draft rewrite and have selected the blurb and cover art. The manuscript needs to go through various proof reading stages but looks likely to be ready for a publication date of 21st February 2014. I'll post the cover and more information about the book in an update next week.

In the mean time take care and have a great week.

Others News: I've completed the first draft my novella Wild West Hero. Set in 1969 the story takes place in Spain on the movie set of a Spaghetti western. Writing this has been so much fun. Not least cause it gave me an excuse to watch dozens of Euro westerns from that era and reveal in the beauty of guys like Franco Nero and Terence Hill. I'm already working on the second draft and hope to publish the ebook very soon – mid to late February. Wild West Hero is currently around 28,000 words, the perfect length for a sexy read.

I'm also working towards a paperback collection of the novellas that have previously only published in ebook format. This will include: Wild West Hero, Watching Henry Lawton, The Leather and the Flesh and Midnight Screening. The target for this late spring. I'll update with news on this project over the coming weeks.

I've currently got lots of other ideas brewing for later this spring. I'm already working on another longer story and developing the characters for a new novel. My note book is crammed with new ideas and I'm really excited about fleshing them all out.

A NEW COVER FOR HENRY LAWTON

I've just published the 2nd ebook edition of my novella Watching Henry Lawton. The content of the book remains the same, but the big difference is a brand new cover. Why? Well the character of Henry Lawton is based on a real person. When the book first came out last year I struggled to find a model who personified the dark, voluptuous good looks of the character. While the guy on the 1st edition is an undeniable hottie, he was never really my Henry. But while I was looking at models for the cover my next book Wild West Hero, I came across a young man who is as close as double for the gorgeous Henry as I've ever seen. I couldn't resist redoing the book with my new discovery. Watching Henry Lawton now has exactly the cover I want for it. I hope you agree.

Wild West Hero is almost done and on track to hit the estimated 25-30K word count. Having written novels and short stories, I find that the novella is the perfect length for erotic fiction, as both a reader and a writer. It offers just enough room for character, story development and some scorching sex scenes, without padding or repetition. The first draft will be finished in the next week and I can't wait to share it. I won't waste any time with this one and intend to get right on with the second draft after a couple of days off. My provisional publication date is mid February. I'll pin that down to a definite date once the second draft is finished.

I've got some serious price promotions planned over the coming weeks so check back on Friday 17th January for information on the first special offer.

Regards

MIDNIGHT SCREENING

Happy New Year everyone. Time for a long overdue update. There never seems to be enough time to fit in all the things I want to do. However my big news this weekend is the release of my new ebook Midnight Screening.

BLURB:  In his youth Blake Powell was an actor, the handsome star of a dozen teen movies.

Available at AmazonUK and Amazon USA

I loved writing this short book. A bit like Tim in the story I'm a huge fan of horror movies, especially those from the 1970s and 80s and I've been to tonnes of these cult screenings. As well as the scares I have a real soft spot for all those hunks who stared in low budget horror films at the start of their careers. I love watching new interviews on DVD to see how well (or not) some of those hot jocks have aged. Blake Powell is one of the lucky ones – he's even more gorgeous now than he was then. So Midnight Screening is my love letter to all those hot guys of 80s horror.

OTHER NEWS:

WILD WEST HERO: Currently I'm half way through a novella length tribute to my other guilty pleasure – cowboy movies, specifically the spaghetti westerns of the 1960s and 70s. Those old cowboy films features some of the most beautiful men I've ever seen, guys in their prime like Franco Nero and Terence hill. Hot Italian men dressed as cowboys – wow – it doesn't get much sexier than that. Wild West Hero will probably come in around 25 to 30K words and will be available as an ebook in the spring.

I'm also working towards to a paperback compilation volume of my stories and novellas for later this year. I love ebooks and the freedom they have given to indie writers but nothing compares to holding a physical book. I'm still working out the practicalities of cost and length but will post more news when I have it.

RISK ADDICTION: this was book I announced last year.  Risk Addiction is a full length novel and was conceived as the first part of a trilogy.  Despite completing a full first draft, this book is going to need extensive rewrites before I'm happy with it.  The creative spark seems to have gone out of this project.  I haven't lost all hope for it but it's not exciting me in the way it should.  Hopefully it can be reviewed in 2014 but I will never put out a book I'm less than 100% happy with, so Risk Addiction may be one of those projects that goes into the bottom drawer.

So that brings me up to date. I'm really excited about Midnight Screening and hope people enjoy it. My resolution for 2014 is to keep writing and experimenting. Trying new things is the key to staying fresh for me. Some things work – like Midnight Screening, others don't – like Risk Addiction, but I won't get bogged down by failure. Got to move forward and find more sexy guys and situations to write about.

Best wishes to everyone for 2014.

Thom XXX
